During the opening reception, there was a pre-show buffet, which included sushi, mini sandwiches and cookies. Pictured here is Peter Tatara, on the right, introducing John Arzayus, on the left, who is the artistic photographer behind Ciné Dramatíque.
After the opening reception, ichiP!, short for Ichigo Pantsu, performed their NYAF Show Teaser. It was about six minutes of non-stop dance routines performed to several Japanese and Korean popular music. Each of the dancers had uniformed outfits with identifiable individual colors: green, blue and red. Pictured here is an introduction to the group by the lady in purple. Unfortunately, I do not know her name. From left to right, back row: Erica (green), Venus (blue) and Laura (red).
Following Ichigo Pantsu, was a performance by Mario Bueno to several anime related music. No, he was not in costume, just regular casual clothes. After his singing, Bueno, showed clips of his past cosplay masquerade performances and gave a hint to his Scott Pilgrim versus NYCC 2010 intermission skit.
Since the floor was initially empty for Ichigo Pantsu and Bueno, the table was not set up for the panel with the photographer. As a result, right after his performance, Bueno was used as a distraction while the table was being set up by Arzayus, Tatara and a helper. The photograph is quite evident of that.
During The American Otaku Interview: Q&A panel with John Arzayus, Tatara asked him several questions relating to his photography and interest in figures. Afterwards, the audience had the opportunity to ask the photographer questions of their own.
Pictured here is Rym & Scott of GeekNights, who were the hosts of the NYAF Pre-Game Panel.
Pictured here is Tatara preparing for the raffle.
The first prize of the raffle was a print to one of Arzayus’s photographs. Pictured here is the photographer picking out the winner, while Tatara looks on.
The event is over, so it is time to pack up and go home.
