Lolita Fashion at New York Comic Con 2018

Usually at New York Comic Con (NYCC), I tend to spot Lolitas, but lately, not even this year, probably the last few years, I’ve seen fewer and fewer. Either that or they are hard to spot! There any Lolita panels anymore at NYCC, so that could be another reason. Well, enjoy those that I came across.

Lolita Fashion at NYCC 2014

You know, I actually had a hard time spotting the Lolitas. I do recall seeing some Sweet Lolitas, but I decided to take pictures of a select few. Below are all the pictures that I took. Please enjoy.

The Blood Drive located in the Sheraton outside the Artist Alley. The only thing I liked was the plush. Haha. It looks so big and friendly!

Lolita Fashion at Otakon 2013

Lolita adorning a Korean brand dress. She must be the 3rd person that I have seen wear this distinctive design. The colors are so pretty! I researched online to see what brand sold this dress. Even though I figured out which brand the design is from, unfortunately, I am a couple years too late. (T_T)

Media Report: Otakon 2013 Friday Happenings

This was the congestion that I encountered TRYING to reach the indoor fountain in the early afternoon. OMG, what in the world happened? Literally, this bottleneck was so tight that we were moving inch by inch. It was not easy going back the other way either…

Anime Boston 2013 – Lolita Fashion Show!

As always, this is one of the panels that I look forward to every year at Anime Boston. However, this year the panel was hosted by Kiki and Heather. Similar to last year, it began with an introduction to Lolita Fashion, including the multiple styles, types of clothing and accessories that are incorporated in the fashion. The panelists made a distinction that Lolita is not cosplay, because it is a subculture fashion in Japan. Also, a video of Misako Aoki and Midori Fukasawa at the new Baby, the Stars Shine Bright store was presented at the panel. Unfortunately, there was a technical problem playing the entire video, but here’s the video below!

Chinese Lolita

I been doing research on Lolitas of China and Hong Kong but all I can do is provide you with resources and one day translate the Cantonese into English. I would have to go to Hong Kong and China to do the full blown research. I will be digging up stuff related to Lolitas in Taiwan. So use this post as a resource of information about Chinese Lolitas and anything related to Lolita in the respective countries. BTW it is a WHOLE lot of digging.

NYCC/NYAF 2011 - She’s So Unusual: Lolita Fashion in the Media Panel

The next and last panel that I attended on Friday was She’s So Unusual: Lolita Fashion in the Media located in the Anime Galleria. I was hoping that there would be people in Lolita, but sadly there were not as many there as I expected. As shown in the photograph above, most of the seats that were facing the panel stage were filled. Along for the ride, was my friend who was not familiar with the fashion. I was hoping this would give him some insights.

DC Anime Club Presents Lolita Picnic

DC Anime Club Presents Lolita Picnic

DC Anime Club on September 17, 2011 at DC Freer Gallery Garden from 12:00pm-5:00pm will have a Lolita Picnic. For those who are unfamiliar, Lolita is a fashion subculture in Japan that is primarily influenced by Victorian children clothing, as well as costumes from the Rococo period. Lolita has made this into a unique fashion by adding gothic and original design elements to the look. From this, Lolita fashion has evolved into several different subs ...styles and has created a devoted subculture in Japan. The Lolita look consists primarily of a knee-length skirt or dress, headdress, blouse, petticoat, knee-high socks or stockings, and rocking horse or high heel/platform shoes.

The line for the Lolita Fashion: Style for the Frilly Masses. I didn't think it would be this long, but I am glad that I was still able to get a good aisle seat!

Happenings: Panels, Signing and Fashion

October 8, 2010

Panels

This panel, Lolita Fashion, was from 3:00pm to 4:00pm in room 1E12. It covered the basic guidelines and understandings of the style. This is good for those who are starting in the fashion or just want to learn about the styles’ general aspect. Because I knew most of the materials being covered, I left the panel early to conduct something else.

What People Were Wearing – Costumes and Lolita

Because of the crowd, it was extremely difficult to spot people and take pictures of them. So here are a few that I was able to take.

I took this picture at the St. Mark’s Comics booth 3116, and I believe that this young lady happens to work for it. :-) I asked her if she was cold, and she said nope!

TOKYOPOP's Gothic and Lolita Bible - Yes or No?

Dear Fans of the Lolita Fashion!

How many of you miss the Bible that was put out by TOKYOPOP?

How many of you want it back as much as I do?
