Introduction to Legal Times: Old and New
According to ICv2, Japanese and American publishers has joined forces to bring down roughly 30 websites with scans of manga titles. The alliance is comprised of, but not limited to Tokyopop, Viz Media, Yen Press and Vertical. According to the spokesperson of the group, "we are left with no other alternative but to take aggressive action."
With the success against scans of American Comics and continuing downward spiral in manga sales, will the take down of manga title scans be as successful and bring back the glory days of the industry? Only time will tell.
