NYAF 2009 - Baby, The Stars Shine Bright and Brooklyn Book Festival

The Brooklyn Book Festival Is Sunday!
And NYAF Presents The Return Of The Baby, The Stars Shine Bright Boutique!

Ahoy!

NYAF's just a few weeks away, but do you know what's right around the corner? The Brooklyn Book Festival. Taking place September 13 -- that's this Sunday -- the BBF is a free convention right outside Brooklyn Borough Hall. It's a day celebrating literacy in all its forms, and, for the first time, NYAF is part of the festivities. The New York Anime Festival and New York Comic Con are joining together with the Brooklyn Book Festival to host comics publishers, dealers, and guests, and we'd love to have you come on by, too! Start off your NYAF celebration a few weeks early by joining us this Sunday in Brooklyn!

Other than the BBF, we've got two more events leading up to NYAF. Eureka Seven Dayis September 20 at Kinokuniya , and the NYAF Pre-Party is September 24 at Dave and Buster's, and -- if you haven't heard -- there'll be cake from Charm City Cakes for all! That's right, Charm City Cakes, the dudes from Food Network's Ace of Cakes, are making the Pre-Party a cake!

We got any news about stuff going on at NYAF? Absolutely. First up, if you have any questions about NYAF while you're at the con, text us at 36263 and enter keyword "NYAF" into your message. (For example: NYAF Where is the ANA Theater?) We'll get it and get right back to you.

Now, I've got two big pieces of news for the ladies. First up, NYAF will be partnering with Guest of Honor Yui Makino to offer a select number of her CDs, along with charm bracelets, posters, and other goodies, at the NYAF Show Store. And every fan who buys her CD at the show will be guaranteed Makino-san's autograph, too! Details are at nyanimefestival.com!

Now, here's the second piece of news -- news that is last but certainly not least. Last year, NYAF brought Lolita fashion brand Baby, The Stars Shine Bright to NYC. They held events throughout the Anime Festival and opened up their own boutique in the Javits. This year -- while we can't repeat guests two years in a row -- we're proud to announce the return of the Baby boutique! Located as part of the Kinokuniya Booth at NYAF (Booth Number 203), the Baby, The Stars Shine Bright Boutique will offer a variety of the designer's distinctive Lolita-styled skirts, dresses, blouses, and accessories. We're honored to again be able to present a boutique in cooperation with Baby, The Stars Shine Bright, and like last year, we know it'll be bare bones (or is that "bare threads") after only a few hours.

What about something for the guys out there? How about an AKB48 update? Keep you eyes glued to nyanimefestival.com for details on how you can score AKB48 concert tickets. The details will be live soon -- or maybe even live now. Hurry! Go! Check!

That's it for this week. Keep your eyes on www.nyanimefestival.com, www.mediumatlarge.net, and www.twitter.com/ny_anime_fest, as we've got a lot more coming in the next few weeks!
