iVdopia’s Interactive Mobile Video Ads on iPhone and Android Devices Drive DVD Sales for ‘Corpse Princess’

iVdopia’s Video and Rich Media Mobile Ad Solutions Drive User Engagement for FUNimation Entertainment’s Launch of
“Corpse Princess” DVD

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 2, 2010
—iVdopia (www.ivdopia.com), the largest video and rich media mobile advertising network, today announced the successful results for a recent mobile video advertising campaign with FUNimation Entertainment on the launch of the series “Corpse Princess” on DVD. The interactive pre-app video ads delivered a whopping interaction rate of 7.44 percent CTR (click through rate) while from the Talk2Me ad engagements, 57% of users clicked to watch Corpse Princess videos and 18% clicked to share on Twitter!

The video and rich media mobile campaign ran for the entire month of September, and was targeted at a niche audience of young men and women interested in the anime genre of entertainment across Smartphone devices on multiple-platforms like the iPhone, iPod Touch and Android. Created and implemented exclusively by iVdopia, the video and rich media mobile ad campaign was designed to build awareness, generate interest and deliver an interactive experience.

“We loved what iVdopia did for our Corpse Princess campaign,” said Gina Marie Alioto, Marketing Brand Manager at FUNimation Entertainment. “They ‘got’ it! They know our target demographics and that our fans are early adopters who live on their mobile devices. iVdopia’s advertising made our campaign viral by feeding into their growing appetite for rich media that they could enjoy and share – and in the end, we’ve seen a positive effect on DVD sales!”

The mobile campaign included multiple ad formats ranging from 15 second pre-app videos, standard display banners, Talk2Me social media interactive ads and the finger-swiping innovation from iVdopia - Viper ads. Delivering the highest user-engaging experience on mobile screens, the Viper Ad allowed users to swipe away an entire screen-takeover of a Corpse Princess image with a fingertip to reveal the next interactive ad unit of Talk2Me. The Talk2Me interactive ad unit allowed users to view multiple long-format video clips, share Corpse Princess videos with friends across social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and visit the official anime website.

Combining the interactivity of video and rich media with touch, the in-app ad units delivered extensive engagement for users with Smartphone devices to experience the animated movie Corpse Princess. Average view time for the video ad was 12.41 seconds, which means users on average watched 83% of the video ad clip! With an average click time of 7.48 seconds, users went on to further explore the interactive Talk2Me page, where 57% clicked to watch videos, 23% clicked to visit the website, 10% went on to share the Corpse Princess ad on Facebook, 18% on Twitter and 9% on email.

“We’re extremely delighted with the results of bringing the first anime experience to consumers on mobile devices. iVdopia understands the key to delivering an engaging video and rich media ad experience to users on iPhone and Android devices”, said Saurabh Bhatia, Chief Business Officer at iVdopia. “We bring HTML5 powered video ads to mobile screens, combining the interactivity of touch and the dynamic display of visuals with social media sharing options. Our interactive video ad formats let users spend more time on the ad unit and share their experience, which results in building awareness and generating interest in the movie.”
