FUNimation Entertainment President and CEO named GameSamba Chairman

Everett, WA – October 27, 2011
-- GameSamba, online game developer and publisher, named Gen Fukunaga, president and CEO of FUNimation Entertainment, as the first Chairman of its Board of Directors (the “Board”).

Fukunaga’s appointment further deepens the strategic alliance formed between the two companies earlier this year. This alliance includes a multi-faceted promotional partnership to cross promote online gaming and anime titles to each other’s audiences.

“I see this collaborative relationship as a bridge between the online gaming and anime worlds and allows both companies many opportunities to work together effectively and in many imaginative ways,” said Fukunaga. “Their games – Realms Online, Remnant Knights, and Tribal Trouble 2 – are such winners, I had to be a bigger part of this company and invest significant capital into it."

Scott Wong, president and CEO of GameSamba, commented, "Gen will bring strong, expert leadership and counsel to our Board. His vision, industry knowledge and operational experience will benefit the Company and our shareholders as we grow and gain a competitive position.”

A seasoned executive, Fukunaga brings more than 25 years of experience to the GameSamba Board. He has been the president at FUNimation since founding the company in 1994 and has led it to become one of the nation’s leading brand management and independent home entertainment distributors and the home of such iconic anime series as Dragon Ball Z and Fullmetal Alchemist. Prior to FUNimation, Fukunaga held positions with Tandem Computers, Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) and IBM. Mr. Fukunaga received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Columbia University.
